Employment FAQ

  1. How do I apply for a job with Voyages?

    The online application form is the only way to apply for a position with us. If you are having problems with this please contact our helpdesk on webmaster@voyages.com.au

    Please ensure that any attachments are in the desired format. In order for us to respond to your application, ensure that you include a contact phone number and a mailing address.

  2. Can I fax or email my resume?

    The most effective way to apply for a position with us is through our website, this makes your resume available to our whole Human Resources team rather than just one person.

  3. When should I apply?

    The best time to apply for a position with us is 2-3 months before you are ready to move. Positions on the website have varying start dates, some are immediate some are for future, so even if you are planning a move in 2-3 months you might get one soon after applying.

  4. What is the recruitment process?

    Applications can take 7 -10 days to process and only successful applicants will be contacted in this time. Your application will be kept on file for a period of three months; in which time if a suitable position becomes available we will contact you direct to discuss your application further.

  5. What are the wages for these positions?

    Wages are discussed throughout the recruitment process.

    Line positions (generally up to and including Supervisors) are covered by Enterprise Agreements which provide for wages and conditions of employment. 

  6. How can I follow up on my application?

    You will find a direct email and contact phone number of the Human Resources representative at the bottom of each of the Living and Working fact sheets.

  7. Does Voyages offer internships or apprenticeships?

    Yes we do offer both internships and apprenticeships for hospitality professionals, if you would like to apply for either please fill out the online application form.

  8. I haven't worked in hospitality before. Can I find a position within Voyages?

    We have general requirements for all positions within Voyages, however on occasion we have the opportunity to give people who may not have all the right skills the chance to join our team. So don't let it stop you from applying because sometimes we're just looking for people who are motivated and keen to try something new!

  9. Does Voyages sponsor international applicants?

    Some positions within Australia offer the opportunity for temporary or permanent sponsorship. Please contact your local Australian Embassy for more information before you apply online.

  10. I would like to work with another person in the same location, is this possible?

    Yes. We employ couples, friends, family members and others to our properties. When you apply online you will need to note the name of the person you are traveling with so we can link the applications together.

  11. Can I choose who I share a room with?

    In the instance of shared accommodation we will always do our best to house people in the most comfortable way. If you are traveling with someone it's very likely you will share a room together.

  12. What would happen if there was only one position available and I'm traveling with my partner?

    Voyages will always do our best to accommodate partners into a role that suits their skills and experience. If the ideal role is not available there may be an offer of an alternative so you can both travel together.

  13. Can I bring my pets?

    We generally do not allow pets on our properties as they are predominantly in National Parks and protected environments. There are some exceptions, these would be discussed during the interview process.

  14. I am a university student or traveler. Are short-term (i.e.3-6 months) positions available?

    We often use people for short term employment during our busy periods (as a general rule we hire for a 3 month minimum). These busy periods vary from property to property so at anytime of the year it's likely that somewhere will be going through a busy period.

  15. I am looking for work, when do you hire? When do you have vacancies?

    We generally hire as needed and in the future when a busy period can be forecast. Each property has different busy periods as they are in varying climates, so it's important to read the Living and Working fact sheets for more information.

  16. Is accommodation provided?

    Accommodation varies from property to property, so please refer to the Living and Working fact sheets for more information.

  17. Do you accommodate families?

    The properties that have options for off site accommodation and/or primary schooling are Ayers Rock Resort, Alice Springs Resort, Cradle Mountain Lodge and Silky Oaks Lodge. For higher eduction schooling and off site accommodation Cradle Mountain and Silky Oaks Lodge are the only ones available.
