CORPORATE
Stingers and Jellyfish
Brampton Island can seasonally be affected by stingers and jellyfish.
Although it is rare that our guests are affected by jellyfish stings, we believe we have a responsibility to advise them of the potential risks and ensure visits to our properties are memorable for all the right reasons.
We therefore set ourselves the task of providing our guests, and our staff working on these island resorts, with relevant and up-to-date information on the potential risks of jellyfish stings.
We collated all available information from research and community groups (such as Surf Life Saving Queensland) and state government agencies, reviewed it and produced an easy-to-read, informative guide which is now included in all rooms at our island properties.
The popularity and informative nature of the guide has led to a number of local community groups contacting Voyages about the Jellyfish Information Guide (pdf). In response, Voyages has provided these groups with free access to the Guide to spread the message about stingers and reduce the incidence of stings for all visitors to Queensland.
