Wrotham Park - Outback Queensland Australia
Outback Queensland - Wrotham Park

More than twice the size of Luxembourg and 250,000 acres larger than the Grand Canyon, Wrotham Park Station is home to 35,000 head of prized Brahman cattle, a breed superbly suited to the environment and renowned for their high grade beef.

Wrotham lies 300 kilometres west of Cairns in Far North Queensland, high on an escarpment over looking the Mitchell River and surrounded by an immense expanse of tropical savannah.

Wrotham Park has 3 major rivers which are part of the 72000 km2 Mitchell River Catchment system that discharges 12 million mega litres into the Gulf of Carpentaria. The Mitchell, Walsh and Lynd all flow through the entire property, providing permanent water to the station and its cattle herd.

Due to the diversity of Wrotham's environment, the area is host to some of Australia's most interesting flora and fauna.

The river system is home to both salt and freshwater crocodiles, bull sharks, sawfish, barramundi and many other species of fish. Whilst on land dingoes, wallabies, kangaroos, feral pigs (and the odd cow) roam the countryside. The trees and plains are abundant with the most spectacular birdlife such as cockatoos, parrots, eagles, falcons, owls, cranes, herons, egrets, pelicans, storks, bustards and bee eaters just to name a few.

The surrounding country is teeming with Australia's most beautiful trees ranging from the Weeping Teetree to the magnificent Ghost Gum.
