DEVIL OF A TIME ON TOP OF TASSIE
Voyages Cradle Mountain Lodge will play host to one of Tasmania's premier food and wine events, "Tastings at the Top" from June 23 -27. Hosts Peter Bourne and Helen Waterworth will lead guests on a culinary journey of the Apple Isle against a backdrop of the World Heritage listed Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park.
"When you combine the best of Tasmanian produce with legendary wines and such a spectacular setting, it is easy to see why Tastings at the Top has become such a popular event," says General Manager Rod Stendrup.
"From degustation dinners to cooking demonstrations; fresh produce markets to wine tastings; wilderness walks to fly fishing tutorials; and (finally) decadent spa treatments at the famous Waldheim Alpine Spa, Tastings at the Top encompasses the very best of Tasmania."
Now in its twelfth year, the event has become synonymous with Tasmania's reputation as a gastronomic nirvana.
Providores displaying their wares include Huon Valley Mushrooms, Bruny Island Cheese Co, Tasmanian Gourmet Sauce Co, 41 Degree South Aquaculture and more.
Palates will be cleansed with superb wines from Tamar Ridge, Bay of Fires, Freycinet, Dalrymple, Providence and Barringwood vineyards, to name a few.
Guests will also have time to experience more traditional Cradle Mountain activities such as fly fishing tutorials in pristine mountain streams, walking and hiking trails, and indulgent therapies at the Waldheim Alpine Spa.
4 night (minimum stay) packages for 'Tastings at the Top' start from $1,080 per person twin share and include accommodation, full buffet breakfasts daily and all scheduled events, dinners, workshops or activities.
