HIGH & DRY: STATION PROPERTIES REOPEN FROM 1APRIL

Thursday, 16 March 2006

Two of Australia's most famous and luxurious cattle station properties will re-open on
April 1, following a 4 month hiatus during the tropical wet season.

Voyages El Questro Wilderness Park and Homestead in The Kimberley region of North Western Australia, together with Voyages Wrotham Park Lodge in Far North Queensland are preparing to welcome their first guests after closing in December last year.

According to Voyages' Executive General Manager Sales & Marketing Nick Baker, management and staff at both properties are putting the finishing touches to guest facilities and readying themselves for an influx of visitors eager to experience Australia's tropical wilderness at its greenest and most spectacular.

"The most exciting news is the re-opening of Emma Gorge Resort at El Questro," he said. "Cyclone Ingrid swept away the popular resort this time last year and since then we've re-built the tents and included en-suite facilities in all of them."

Meanwhile at Wrotham Park Lodge, General Manager Mat Daniel and team are keen to launch new touring experiences such as mustering helicopter flights over the sprawling 1.5 million hectare property, as well as quad bike tours to previously inaccessible parts of the working cattle station.

Voyages El Questro Wilderness Park offers a variety of accommodation styles, including Station Township Tents from $135 per tent per night, Emma Gorge Resort tents from $240 per tent per night, and Station Township Bungalows from $290 per room per night. Wilderness Park permits are $15 per person (per 7 day period).

Voyages El Questro Homestead offers the best The Kimberley has to deliver, from $875 per room per night twin share. The more adventurous may also embark on a Mount Cockburn Safari, from $900 per person for one night. Both experiences include accommodation, all meals, beverages, and touring.

Voyages Wrotham Park Lodge guests immerse themselves into a beautifully designed and fitted Quarter room, from $698 per night twin share and including all meals, non alcoholic beverages, and a selection of tours such as horse-riding, 4WD station tour, fishing and canoeing.
