Voyages Lizard Island on the Great Barrier Reef and Voyages Silky Oaks Lodge & Healing Waters Spa in the Daintree Rainforest have been voted amongst the top 15 resorts in the Australia Pacific region by readers of the acclaimed Conde Nast Traveler magazine in the USA.
The annual Conde Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards recognised the two properties in a highly competitive field. Over 28,000 readers voted in the survey with the results awarded at a gala ceremony at the Museum of Natural History in New York City overnight.
It is the fifth year in a row that Voyages Lizard Island has been recognised by the awards and the first time for Voyages Silky Oaks Lodge & Healing Waters Spa.
According to Conde Nast Traveler, the survey is distributed to over 380,000 subscribers and split into 7 categories including airlines, cities, islands, hotels, resorts and safari camps, and more. Questionnaires contained lists of candidates, together with enough space for personal comments. Only those candidates who received a required minimum number of responses were deemed eligible for an award.
Each candidate was rated, criterion by criterion, as excellent, very good, fair, or poor. Criterion scores, which represents the percentage of respondents rating an excellent or very good, were averaged to determine the final score.
