VOYAGES SELL CAPE TRIBULATION PROPERTIES

Tuesday, 28 November 2006

Voyages' parent company, the GPT Group, has exchanged contracts relating to the sale of Cape Tribulation resorts Coconut Beach Rainforest Lodge, Ferntree Rainforest Lodge, Jungle Lodge and dive operation Odyssey H20.

All properties, including Odyssey H20, have been acquired by a listed public company, Ocean Capital Limited. Ocean Capital Limited currently own and manage four other tourism businesses in North Queensland, including a number of resorts and a Great Barrier Reef Cruise operation.

According to Voyages CEO Chris Tallent, "Whilst the original acquisition of the Cape Tribulation assets in 2002 provided Voyages with a strong Daintree Rainforest experiential presence, the further acquisition of Silky Oaks Lodge in 2004 has provided the Group with a resort which represents a better overall fit within the portfolio.

The continued management of the award winning Voyages Silky Oaks Lodge & Healing Waters Spa continues to provide the company with a very strong presence in the region and an exceptional rainforest experience for its guests".

The sale is expected to be completed in late January 2007.

Voyages is an Australian travel company, providing experience-based holidays in spectacular wilderness locations including the Red Centre, Queensland, The Kimberley and Tasmania. Voyages operate award-winning properties such as Ayers Rock Resort, Longitude 131°, Lizard Island, Silky Oaks Lodge and Cradle Mountain Lodge.
