Voyages Ayers Rock Resort’s Donald Pearson wins Service Excellence Award
“We take pride in the achievements of all our staff and it is especially pleasing to see one of our former NITA graduates achieve this recognition in our industry. Voyages is dedicated to fostering Indigenous talent and Donald is a shining example of what young people can achieve when they are given the opportunity. He is an inspiring role model and a great ambassador for Indigenous culture,” said Voyages CEO Grant Hunt.
Donald Pearson joined Ayers Rock Resort seven years ago as a trainee at the National Indigenous Training Academy, achieving a Certificate III in Hospitality, and following his graduation became a permanent member of the Outback Pioneer Hotel & Lodge team. He is currently Porter Supervisor at the Outback Pioneer Hotel & Lodge and his outstanding performance in this role, strong work ethic and focus on mentoring and training other Indigenous staff members has led to this accolade.
“We are incredibly proud of Donald’s achievement which is due recognition for his outstanding contributions throughout the year. We have always valued Donald’s special qualities and it’s great to see this celebrated by our industry peers,” said Andrew Freak, General Manager of the Outback Pioneer Hotel & Lodge.
“I feel honoured to be recognised amongst so many outstanding employees across the NT. It was humbling to represent Voyages and the Outback Pioneer Hotel, and none of this would have been possible without their support,” said Donald Pearson.
The Hospitality NT Aristocrat Technologies Awards for Excellence are one of the Northern Territory’s most prestigious awards for the hospitality industry, highlighting excellence in venues and exceptional staff. Winners qualify as finalists at the AHA National Hotel Awards for Excellence.
