We are seeking a Chef Team Leader to join our kitchen Team at Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre.

We are seeking an Experienced Chef to join our team full-time at the Mayi Café. You will be reliable, trustworthy, and confident working in a busy commercial kitchen, supporting the Operations Manager while leading by example.

We are seeking an Experienced Chef to join our team full-time at the Mayi Café. You will be reliable, trustworthy, and confident working in a busy commercial kitchen, supporting the Operations Manager while leading by example.
Key Duties
- Prepare, cook, and serve food to a high standard each day
- Assist the Operations Manager with coordinating kitchen activities including stock control, rotation, ordering, and stocktaking
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times
- Ensure recipes and menus are kept up to date, incorporating Indigenous ingredients where possible
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, setting a professional example in conduct and presentation

You will have:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or completed Cooking Apprenticeship
- At least 3 years’ experience cooking in a café or restaurant environment in a supervisory role
- Strong leadership and team management skills to motivate and support staff
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Good oral English communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure
- A National Criminal History Check is a mandatory step in the recruitment process.
