With the long school summer holidays approaching, families looking to explore the spiritual heart of Australia can reconnect and discover vibrant Indigenous culture with a great value Family Package at Ayers Rock Resort.

Priced at $1446, the three-night package at the beautiful Sails in the Desert hotel is for two adults and two children (aged 2-15 years) and includes full buffet breakfast daily; entry to the magical Field of Light Uluru; entry to the Red Desert Reptiles Show and dinner at Ilkari Restaurant (excluding beverages). Also included is a range of Indigenous activities for the whole family to enjoy such as a Bush Food experience, Guided Garden Walk, Bush Yarns, Ecology and Museum Tour and Indigenous Theatre performance.

Families will also enjoy free in-room WiFi and return Ayers Rock Airport transfers. A special children’s menu is also available at restaurants throughout the Resort making dining with the family easy to enjoy.

Bruce Munro’s immersive art installation, Field of Light Uluru, will delight children and adults alike, with more than 50,000 colourful glass stems covering an area the size of nine football fields. Families will also enjoy the Red Desert Reptiles Show which introduces some of the amazing species that survive and roam in the harsh environment of the Red Desert of Central Australia, home to 73 types of reptile.

Family Astro Tour - taking place just after sunset, this tour provides a great introduction to astronomy – past, present and future. Learn how ancient cultures used the night sky for mythology, orientation and to predict upcoming seasons, and explore the night sky with telescopes and binoculars, with the resident astronomer pointing out constellations, stars and planets.

Dot Painting Workshop - Join an Indigenous artist and learn about the different symbols used to create beautiful works of art depicting Creation Time (Tjukurpa) stories before creating your own dot-masterpiece.

Camels to Sunset - Meander for one hour through the rich red sand dunes on your friendly camel to watch the awe inspiring backdrop of Uluru and Kata Tjuta change colour as the sun sets, and discover the flora and fauna of the outback landscape. Return to the Camel Farm at twilight to enjoy drinks and outback bush foods including freshly baked beer bread damper.

Uluru Outback Cycling - Get up close to Uluru and cycle the 15km pathway around the base at your own pace. Stop and see the ancient rock art and waterholes along the way.
