About the role

As the the Assistant Accountant you will work alongside and with a team of financial professionals, responsible collectively for the accounting of operations at Ayers Rock Resort, Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre, The National Indigenous Training Academy (NITA) and Voyages Corporate Office. 

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant who has a passion to grow their career and enjoys working collaboratively within the Group Financial Accounting & Control team.

Your key role will see you: 

  • Review, process, and distribute operational and financial data daily, weekly, and monthly
  • Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in data management
  • Prepare and post monthly journals for timely month-end processes
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and general ledger on a monthly basis
  • Post monthly lease management entries
  • Perform bank reconciliation postings and reconcile in the finance ledger system
  • Assist in the preparation of daily and weekly management reports

You will have:

  • Prior experience as an Assistant Accountant
  • CA/CPA Qualified or working towards
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel for data analysis, process improvement and efficiency.
  • Process and deadline driven mindset, with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Keen eye for detail with ability to spot trends and anomalies.
  • Experience within "Business Central" (BC) accounting systems, Opera Property Management System (PMS), Shiji POS and Purchase Plus Inventory management are well regarded, but not essential.
  • A background in hotel/hospitality operations is well regarded but not essential.

We are seeking a Casual Trainer & Assessor to join our team at Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre.

Embraced by one of the world's most beautiful locations, the Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre is an enticing destination to introduce visitors to both the stunning natural beauty of the Daintree and the rich culture of the Kuku Yalanji people.

This role will see you deliver the Certificate III in Hospitality for our National Indigenous Training Academy (NITA) program. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and possess an appreciation for Indigenous Australians and their culture. Key requirements for the position include:

This role provides you with an opportunity to work on diverse machinery as our Technical Services team are the trades people of Yulara. You will have the opportunity to become a true specialist in the field as the closest contracting partner is 5 hours away!

We are extremely committed to the safety of our employees, guests and community who visit town, this also needs to be a strong focus of you too! As our town is spread across a large range of land, an Australian Open Driver's License is required for all our trades roles.

Key Duties  

  • Carry out all installation, maintenance and repair work requested by the Technical Services Assistant Manager and Maintenance Planner.
  • Participate in the Technical Services after hours emergency call out roster.
  • Assist team mates during high workload periods, annual leave and other key maintenance periods.

This role requires an HC Truck License, experience working in temperature-controlled freight handling  and a well-developed mechanical understanding. 

Key Duties 

  • Assist contracted drivers to break up and reassemble road-trains. 
  • Operate a forklift on a daily basis. 
  • Assist in removal of palletised freight from trailers and distribute all freight as marked. 
  • Operate a new UD automatic prime mover on a daily basis. 
  • Assist in sorting mixed freight with ute deliveries.

Pool Technician Supervisor | Ayers Rock Resort

A qualified Pool Technician Supervisor who has experience within a resort or public aquatic facility operations, you will coordinate and facilitate the daily workload for the pool maintenance team in line with State and Federal requirements. This role will ensure all records of pool testing are kept and any action or adjustments are carried out immediately.  

We are extremely committed to the safety of our employees, guests and community who visit town, this also needs to be a strong focus of you too! We require you to hold a First Aid Certificate (including Advanced Resuscitation), Pool Operators Certificate and Pool Chemical Handling Certification. 
As our town is spread across a large range of land, an Australian Open Driver's License is required for all our trades roles. 
 

Key Duties 

  • Comply with all reasonable instructions given in the interests of Health and Safety by your management team and Workplace Health and Safety Department representatives
  • Supervise, coordinate and facilitate the daily operational requirements of all pool and plant to ensure all guest and residents needs are met.
  • Ensures that pool systems operate in accordance with State and Federal requirements. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, pool heaters, pumps, motors, chlorination equipment, chemical feed system, storage tanks, and pool fittings and valves. Maintain chemical balance, water quality and pH balance in all resort and residential swimming pools.
  • Maintain records of pool testing results and actions/adjustments taken, documents, general maintenance activities.
  • Comply with WHS requirements, State and federal health and Safety Codes. Record all necessary documentation. Develop and improve where required.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to lead our Outback Hotel and Lodge kitchen brigade at Ayers Rock Resort in Uluru. In this role, you will oversee the operations of the kitchen operations ensuring the highest standards of quality and profitability. Your ultimate goal will be to provide excellent products and services to our guests while also driving sustainable and profitable outlets. It will be your responsibility to assist the Head Chef in creating and maintaining training programs to ensure that our associates have the necessary skills and framework to effectively perform their jobs and maintain the highest standards of culinary services.

Key Duties 
 

  • Assist the senior chefs with menu planning, inventory control, scheduling, ordering of kitchen supplies; within the Pastry Kitchen and Bakery.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure the kitchen is smoothly and efficiently;  
  • Undertake all kitchen and service duties including cleaning, food preparation, cookery and guest service;. 
  • Assist  chefs with all sections of the kitchen as required by the Head chef.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Qualified Chef Certificate IV in Culinary Arts, commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a 5-star multi restaurant resort
  • Knowledge of Australian indigenous produces it's advantageous

Who we're seeking? 
An organized and strong communicator with leadership experience, who will oversee and coordinate ordering, receiving, transferring, and maintaining par levels to support a smoother operation for the hotel. We are a hard-working bunch who are committed to cleanliness but also know how to have a laugh in-between.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all goods received are recorded in the Stores Delivery Log Spreadsheet, and that relevant delivery documents like manifests & con notes are prepared for processing.
  • Check consignment notes for correct number of items received and the correct weight of goods received (consignment notes and manifests to be signed off and sent to Freight Services within 24hours of the receipt of goods).
  • Compare goods received against Purchase Orders and Invoices and notify the Purchasing Department about any discrepancies immediately (It is highly importance that missing invoices are chased up by the stores department).
  • Ensure all delivered stock is to put away in its correct place.
  • Ensure fresh produce and frozen goods have priority and are put away first in conjunction with the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
  • Issue all stock requested by Sails in the Desert Hotel departments, checking that items have been correctly entered into the inventory system and authorised before issue takes place.
  • Ensure that after hour access to the stores area in monitored and tracked to avoid items not being transferred correctly.
  • Assist senior chefs when necessary during regular administration activities like End Of Month, stock take count, inventories etc.
