Chef de Partie (Relocate to Ayers Rock Resort, NT)

Reporting into the Executive Sous Chef you will undertake all kitchen and service duties efficiently to achieve the highest level of guest satisfaction whilst contributing to effective hotel operations.

Key Duties:

  • Ensures food preparation, cooking and presentation are in accordance with accepted standards of quality
  • Assist the Executive Chef with Menu planning, inventory control, scheduling, ordering of kitchen supplies
  • Responsible for the training and development of new and existing employees
  • Ensure the overall cleanliness and the health and safety aspects of the kitchen are maintained at all times
  • Responsible for proper storage, labelling and use of all food supplies to prevent unnecessary spoilage and to maintain cost control

We are looking for:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience (post trade)
  • A passionate chef with extensive background within a similar large kitchen operation gained within either a Restaurant, Events or quality Hotel environment
  • A la Carte and buffet exposure
  • Ability to supervise and a guide stations during service
  • Professionally trained chef with completed Certificate III in Commercial Cookery

Demi Chef (Relocate to Ayers Rock Resort, NT)

  • Understanding the running sheets for setting up the different sections for both morning and night service
  • Food production in accordance with requirements whilst ensuring correct methods of cooking, consistency in product and quality

  • Responsible for proper storage, labelling and use of all food supplies to prevent unnecessary spoilage and to maintain cost control

You will be responsible for the production of a number of end of day financial reports derived from the PMS, as well as a number of daily management reports required for the following day.

Residential Supervisor (mentor Care) - Ayers Rock Resort

This position is based at the Ayers Rock Resort (ARR) in the Northern Territory and would be working for the National Indigenous Training Academy (NITA) part of the business.

We are currently seeking two Full-Time Residential Supervisors to support young Indigenous Australians with their socio-emotional needs with the goal of maintaining employment and completing their traineeship.

You will work in a team environment to deliver supportive and innovative programs for young Indigenous Australians, based on an understanding of their barriers, needs and aspirations, to contribute to their personal and professional development.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering pastoral care to young Indigenous Australians with a focus on physical and emotional health, hygiene, wellbeing, motivation and perseverance 
  • Designing, planning and managing innovative programs for young Indigenous Australians
  • Working with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective operation and delivery of the programs
  • Coordination of residential services as it relates to the team, infrastructure and training organisation

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Competencies:

Key responsibilities:

  • Goods received are recorded and the relevant delivery documents prepared for processing.
  • Consignment notes for correct number of goods received and correct weight of goods received.
  • Compare goods received against invoices, any discrepancies found notify the Purchasing Manager.
  • All stock that is delivered to be put away in its correct place.
  • Condition of goods received is checked upon delivery and any discrepancy in the quality or quantity to be addressed with the Retail Operations Manager
  • No stock to be left in the loading dock.
  • Assisting with counting of stock at end of month, inputting with count with the respective department head, reviewing the count with the Retail Operations Manager before stock take is booked.
  • Ensuring all documentation is correct and accurate eg. Issuing of stock, goods inwards dockets
  • Observe and advise of potential stock shortages
  • Follow up on all problems, report any issue to the Store Manager.
  • Cleanliness of stores areas – Must be kept tidy at all times.
  • Cleanliness of Loading Dock – clearing of bins – refuse and recycling on a daily basis.

We are currently seeking a full-time VET Trainer to deliver the Certificate III in Tourism and Certificate III in Hospitality based out at our training centre at Ayers Rock Resort in Yulara, Northern Territory.

The VET Tourism and Hospitality Trainer will form a part of a small team and be the primary trainer for the SIT30116 Certificate III in Tourism (Tour Guiding) and SIT30616 Certificate III in Hospitality (Housekeeping and Food and Beverage).

The trainer is expected to collaboratively build the program with the NITA Operations Manager and employment partners and will be responsible for organising and implementing it in accordance with VET curriculum and registration requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing student’s attendance and academic course progression
  • Motivating trainees to complete their traineeship
  • Contributing to the development of the program and related resources
  • Participating in validation and moderation processes as required
  • Maintaining industry currency in Tourism and Hospitality
  • Liaising and working effectively with the Operations Manager and other NITA team members

Applicants must demonstrate that they:

  • Hold a TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or TAE40110 with TAEASS502 & TAELLN401
  • Have vocational competency equivalent to or above the certificates being delivered
  • Have relevant industry experience Have current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided and current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that inform their training and assessment
  • Are able to maintain current industry skills through professional development, directly relevant to the training/assessment being undertaken.
  • Are familiar with the delivery of both listed qualifications
  • Are able to deliver curriculum and assessment tasks that caters for students with varying learning styles
  • Have a thorough understanding of a range of interventions that promote engagement, build rapport and develop prosocial behaviours and relationships
  • Can apply an understanding of trauma-informed practice to support students in a way that is empowering and engaging for the student cohort
  • Working rights in Australia with no restrictions and/or Australian Permanent Residency and/or Australian Citizenship.

  • To understand and implement policies relating to waste management and recycling

  • To ensure Occupational Health and Safety Practices in the workplace are adhered to and be proactive regarding safety issues.
