Airport Operations Officer (Relocate to Ayers Rock Resort, NT)

About Us:
Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia is a unique Australian travel company wholly owned by the Indigenous Land & Sea Corporation (ILSC) offering experience-based holidays in spectacular wilderness locations including Ayers Rock Resort in the iconic Red Centre and tourism facilities at Mossman Gorge in Tropical North Queensland.

This role is based at Ayers Rock Resort in Yulara, NT 

Reporting into the Airport Manager you will maintain airport security integrity in accordance with the Ayers Rock Airport Transport Security Program (TSP) and the Ayers Rock Airport ASIC Program.
 
Key responsibilities: 

  • To maintain the airport operational areas in accordance with the Ayers Rock Aerodrome Manual (AM) and as required by sections of the CASR 139 – Aerodromes, Manual of Standards (MOS)
  • Work in a rotating roster which involves 24 hour operational coverage
  • Prepare reports, correspondence and record sheets on airport operations
  • Maintaining security surveillance within airport boundaries to nominated standards
  • Respond as detailed in the Airport Emergency Plan (AEP) and TSP
  • To work cooperatively and in a positive manner, with all internal and external stakeholders, to achieve the regulatory objectives.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Ability to achieve Work Safety Officer Accreditation (desirable)
  • Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • Ability to obtain a Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia corporate firearms license
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated attention to detail
  • Northern Territory manual driver’s license
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Current Certificate II Security Licence

About the role:

Being based in the middle of the Red Centre we need to employ a large and dedicated onsite property maintenance team, consisting of a range of trades and specialist disciplines. Supporting this team are a number of general Handymen based at our Housing Department to ensure our infrastructure and facilities remain operational and in prime condition for our staff.

We currently require a Handyman Team Leader to undertake a range of general maintenance duties. These range from ensuring all maintenance requests are acted on quickly, safely and thoroughly.

Essential criteria will include:

  • Developing, planning and managing the effective and efficient delivery of a language, literacy and numeracy (LLND) program for trainees, with rolling intakes across all NITA locations, under the direction of the NITA Operations Manager.
  • Development of LLND resources and tools as is required for the program to support trainees to complete a qualification up to a Certificate III level.
  • Training and mentoring of trainers and other relevant team to effectively deliver and support the LLND program as is planned and to the standards set.
  • Development and management of trainee LLND Support plans
  • Delivery of LLND program to Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) accreditation and other related regulatory standards and requirements.
  • Reporting and record keeping across deliverables of the NITA traineeship program as is required by National and State regulatory requirements or the business unit, across all locations.
  • Working with key external and internal stakeholders to ensure the effective operation and delivery of the LLND program and related services including Registered Training Organisations under third-party arrangements.
  • Encouraging trainees to participate in the LLND program.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a boarding/dormitory/residential facility.

  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Demonstrated ability to build and participate in youth activities supporting socio-emotional and professional development.

We are currently seeking a Store Person to ensure efficient delivery of stock Items to the various departments within the resort operation and to maintain safe working environment at all times.  Assist with inventory control and correct stock storage.

The successful applicant will have:

Key responsibilities:

Ensure standard operating procedures for stores is maintained at all times – ordering, receiving, transferring and maintaining par levels to ultimately support a smooth operation for the property.

  • Specific Duties in relation to standard operating procedures include:-
  • Goods received are recorded and the relevant delivery documents prepared for processing.
  • Consignment notes for correct number of goods received and correct weight of goods received.
  • Compare goods received against invoices, any discrepancies found notify the Purchasing Manager.
  • All stock that is delivered to be put away in its correct place.
  • Condition of goods received is checked upon delivery and any discrepancy in the quality or quantity to be addressed with the Retail Operations Manager
  • No stock to be left in the loading dock.
  • Assisting with counting of stock at end of month, inputting with count with the respective department head, reviewing the count with the Retail Operations Manager before stock take is booked.
  • Ensuring all documentation is correct and accurate eg. Issuing of stock, goods inwards dockets
  • Observe and advise of potential stock shortages
  • Follow up on all problems, report any issue to the Store Manager.
  • Cleanliness of stores areas – Must be kept tidy at all times.
  • Cleanliness of Loading Dock – clearing of bins – refuse and recycling on a daily basis.

Security Officer (Relocate to Ayers Rock Resort, NT)

This position is based at Ayers Rock Resort which is located in the Northern Territory. 

The resort has five individually branded hotel and apartment complexes across the resort we offer both our guests and employees a multitude of world class accommodation options.

Reporting into the Security Manager your key accountabilities will be to:

Conduct vehicle and foot patrols of all resort areas

  • Respond to, investigate and follow up security incidents
  • Ensure Hotels adhere to procedural security policies
  • Check on staff procedures and report all security breaches
  • Conduct regular OH&S inspections
  • Monitor resident and guest behaviour and respond to all problems
  • Control crowds at licensed venues and special events
  • Compile daily reports as required
  • Serve legal documents as required
  • Ensure security attendance to all emergency situations and participate in Disaster Response exercises when required
  • Liaise with Police, Fire and Emergency Services as required
  • Conduct surveillance, interviews and investigations
  • Maintain after hours security at Ayers Rock Airport

About You:

To be successful in your application, and join the team in this newly created strategic role you will demonstrate:

Minimum Certificate II Security and Senior First Aid

  • Northern Territory Security Officer and Crowd Controller licenses or interstate equivalent
  • Full manual vehicle driver’s license
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including NT Private Security Act, Liquor Licensing Act
  • Ability to obtain and hold Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC) pass
  • Ability to assess and evaluate threats, vulnerabilities and other risks
  • Knowledge of Windows based software applications (Word, Excel and Power point)
  • Training in Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) an advantage
  • Previous Security industry experience preferred
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently as required
  • Strong communication and guest relation skills
  • Ability to prepare reports at daily operational level

We are currently seeking a Retail Stock Controller who will be responsible for the stock control of the ARD retail stores. As our Stock Controller, you will also support and assist the ARD management to optimise the company’s investment in retail stock movement and ordering.
 
The successful applicant will have:

  • Retail experience based in retail stock management.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with both external and internal customers.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise and set goals.
  • Sound understanding of stock procedures and ability to analyse reports.
  • High levels of competencies with computer systems and processes

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing the stock processing procedures within the ARD warehouse.
  • Organise and schedule monthly with Retail Manager and investigate and report stock variations to Retail Manager.
  • Provide advice and service to all store managers on stock availability and distribution.
  • Provide direction for appropriate stock levels to improve retail sales and merchandising.
  • Liaise with inventory controller on replenishable lines and maintain these levels.
  • Assist the inventory controller by providing regular updates on out of stocks, PLU and price variations.
  • Assist the inventory controller in store orders.
  • Identify and action slow moving merchandise and communicate action to Retail Manager
